Science-based Targets and Triple-bottom-line Impact

To mark Earth Day in the Asia Pacific region, four special guests from Australia discussed how science-based targets are driving positive results in business, nature and society.

We explored the following questions:
  1. What are science-based targets, who is targeting 100% GHG emissions by 2030?
  2. How are these targets helping to drive business performance? What are the benefits for business efficiency, stakeholder engagement and growth, as well as overall resilience and risk?
  3. How can science-based targets be implemented for climate action? How does it impact portfolios and profit?
  4. How should you set your own science-based target?
  5. What can we do to persuade more organisations to adopt a similar approach?

  • Rebecca McGrath, a non-executive director of Investa and Goodman Group, and Chairman of OzMinerals and Scania Australia
  • Monica Richter, Senior Manager, Low Carbon Futures and Australian spokesperson on science-based targets for WWF
