I have a background in mechanical engineering with 45 years’ experience in power generation and energy around the world (gas, oil, coal, nuclear, wind, hydro and geothermal). This includes extensive project management experience, and financing of IPPs, in addition to a wide range of operational engineering experience.
I am currently a non-executive director of US-based Flibe Energy, which is commercialising thorium nuclear power cycle technology and an independent advisor to PLN and Sumitomo in relation to the 2400MW Tanjunjati A and B Power Stations in Java. |
From 2007 to 2010 I was Managing Director of Geodynamics (Australia’s leading geothermal company). Previously, I held a number of senior management roles around the world including: Managing Director of Eraring Energy, COO of Tata Power (India’s largest private power company) and various roles with PowerGen.
My earlier career includes a range of roles that provided me with strong technical and strategic experience, including Country Director for PowerGen India where I successfully developed, financed, constructed and subsequently operated a 700 MW CCGT facility in Gujarat, along with developing a number of other IPP’s; Regional Operations Director for PowerGen Europe and Latin America; and engineering roles in the nuclear industry.
I have a B.Sc Hons in Mechanical Engineering from City University London. I am a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers; a Chartered Engineer; and am a graduate of London Business School’s Senior Executive Programme.
