Pottinger's work with start-ups
Our founders and senior team have worked with startups around the world for 20+ years. Collectively, we've mentored and advised founders, raised capital for, invested in and run a host of businesses, and seen everything from unicorn success stories to outright failures. So if ever we offer advice or perspective, remember that we've almost certainly taken the same medicine ourselves.

Runway 41
Pottinger’s core business is advising large companies and governments around the world on how to increase growth, reduce risk and accelerate impact. By combining strategic thinking skills with robust financial analysis and transaction expertise, we dramatically increase the success rate of large initiatives and M&A transactions.
In our Runway 41 program, we leverage our commercial experience and extensive relationships to help the founders of start-up businesses maximise their chances of success. We specifically look for companies that fit the following criteria:
These criteria don't mean a company has better or worse prospects per se. They simply reflect our own assessment of where our time, energy, perspective, experience, thinking and connectivity will have the most impact. Typically businesses at this stage will already have raised initial capital from founders, friends/family and/or angel investors, as well as some form of “seed capital” round (by which we mean a larger, pre-revenue fund-raising round). As a result, founders will usually retain equity ownership of at least 70% to 80%. If you fit these criteria and would be interested to find out more about what we offer, we would be delighted to hear from you. Stay in touch by following @Runway_41 on Twitter -> |
